Where does Africa fit into the energy transition?

This is the question we will be putting directly to senior executives from international energy companies and governments at the Africa E&P Summit - Africa’s Premier Global Oil, Gas & Energy Conference on 22-23 September 2021. With energy majors coming under increasing pressure to decarbonise, where does this leave Africa’s untapped hydrocarbons resources? How does the Continent fit into their short, medium and long-term plans? For a region where 600 million people still lack basic access to electricity, we will be asking: is the energy transition too much of a Western dialogue?

The Africa E&P Summit is the pre-eminent conference in Europe for Africa’s E&P sector, where deals are done and upcoming licensing rounds are showcased. The Africa E&P Summit 2021 will be a hybrid event, taking place live in London and online, bringing people together from across the world for stimulating discussions on the changing energy horizon.

Confirmed speakers include:
  • Benjamin Mee, Regional VP Exploration, Shell
  • Oliver Quinn, Corporate Strategy, Kosmos Energy
  • Graeme Bagley, Head of Global Exploration and Appraisal, Westwood Global Energy
  • Katherine Roe, Chief Executive Officer, Wentworth Resources
  • Emmanuelle Garinet, VP Exploration Africa, TotalEnergies

And many more besides.
